DAY
2: Saturday, May 3rd |
|
| I
woke up out of the blue at 6:30am. I had set the alarm for 7, so I
turned it off. I peeked out the curtains and it looked like it was
going to be a gorgeous day. Joe woke up and showered and we
decided to go to the Pepper Market to get our refillable cups and
some coffee. |
| We
met Mel and Justin at the bus stop. They got up late and hadn’t
had their coffee yet. The bus came quickly again and we were at
the Magic Kingdom before we knew it. There was a huge line to get
in and I thought we were going to be late for our PS. Then I
remembered…We can skip the line and get in early because of the
PS!!! Getting in to the MK before it opened was one of the best
moments of the trip. We took a bunch of pictures walking down Main
Street and just thought we were the coolest. |
|
| Cinderella’s
Royal Table |
| We
got to the castle and I put our names in. The waiting area was
packed and loud. The cast member announcing the family names was
really hard to hear and he had an accent that was hard to
understand. Mel went to ask him to clarify a mane and he snapped
at her. That was a not so magical moment. After waiting for over
20 minutes I went back out to the front desk. We were next on the
list, so he gave me our card and we were on our way up to the
dining area. We were seated immediately. I traded the meat on my
plate with Justin for his cream cheese French toast YUM! We got
lots of pictures of Joe and Justin with the princesses, but there
were no princes available for Mel or I. Once we were stuff we
headed out to do some rides! |

| Magic
Kingdom |
| There
was no wait for It’s a Small World, so we got right on. We . We
grabbed a FP for Big Thunder Mountain and then tried to get one at
Splash. I didn’t realize you could only get one at a time. We
took the raft to Tom Sawyer’s Island to do some exploring while
we waited for out BTM FP time. On our way back we grabbed a FP for
Splash (now that we could). I love BTM, but I think it’s much
better at night. We all got something to drink and sat down to
wait for our Splash FP time. It was what our weatherman calls a 3H
day, hazy, hot, and humid. Splash was great and we cooled off a
bit. We walked around a little more, but the MK was too crowded to
get much accomplished. We decided to head back and relax in the
pool. |
|
| The
Quiet Pool |
| It
was about 2:00 and our room had been cleaned, but our tip was left
on the table. I forgot to make “Mousekeeping” envelopes, but I
would leave a note with the tip tomorrow. We changed and grabbed a
cooler we had prepared earlier in the day. The quiet pool was very
close to our room and the water was warmer than the themed pool.
We grabbed a table, had some drinks, and relaxed I the pool. We
were going to MGM later but we didn’t know what to do about
lunch/dinner. I thought it would be too late to make PS for
anything at MGM, so we decided to head to the Dig Site and eat at
Siesta’s. I had an awesome taco salad (minus the meat). Everyone
else had burgers and fries. It was getting late, so we all went
back to our rooms to change and agreed to meet at the bus stop at
4:30. |
|
| MGM |
| We
got to MGM just as the afternoon parade was ending. The place was
mobbed. We headed over to RNR and TOT to see if we could get a
fast pass. Unfortunately they were all handed out for the day. The
wait for RNR read 30 minutes and we really wanted to do it, so we
stood in line. By the time we got on the ride I think we had been
waiting closer to an hour, but it was worth it! Joe wouldn’t go
on RNR when we were here for our honeymoon, so I told him he had
to go this time. Justin and Mel had never been on it either. They
all loved it!! It is my favorite ride at Disney. Justin and Mel
found the “smoking area” and Joe and I went to check the line
for TOT. It was 15 minutes, so we all lined up. It took closer to
30 minutes, but again it was worth it. TOT scares me to death, but
I still love it. We had an elevator with seatbelts, rather than a
lap-bar, and Justin commented that it didn’t feel that safe. We
also noticed here just how well suited cast members are for their
positions. They were pretty creepy at the TOT! |
|
We
walked around for a while and checked out other attractions we
wanted to come back and go on. It was getting late and most of the
crowd was headed to Fantasmic, so we walked right onto Star Tours.
Everything was closing up after that so we peeked into a couple of
shops and decided to head to Pleasure Island. On the bus ride over
the driver informed us that it was grad night and cinco-de-mayo
festival, so we should expect a lot of people.
|
 |
| PI
wasn’t even open when we arrived due to grad festivities. We
decided we would check out the first show at the comedy club, so
we walked around for a bit and came back right when they opened
the line. The comedy show was an improv and it was pretty good.
When we got out the island was packed. There was a band playing
and throwing gifts and Mardi Gras beads into the audience, so Mel
and I tried to get some stuff. Mel was a good grab and got a
couple things. We didn’t realize that we wouldn’t be able to
use our hotel charges at PI, so after our cash ran out we headed
back to Coronado Springs. We got off at the first stop and headed
to Francisco’s for a nightcap. After one drink I was ready for
bed! We all walked back to our rooms and planned to meet at the
bus stop at 8:30 the next morning.
