DAY
4: Monday, May 5th |
|
| Joe
and I went to the Pepper Market for breakfast. I had the Mickey
Waffles and he had a breakfast skillet.
The waffles were great, but Joe’s eggs were runny. We ran
into Mel and tried to figure out what we were going to do today.
Joe and I wanted to go to Typhoon Lagoon and Mel and Justin wanted
to go to MGM. We compromised and decided on TL in the morning and
MGM that evening. |

TYPHOON
LAGOON
|
| We
didn’t get out to the bus until after 10am, but it was nice to
be able to walk right into Typhoon Lagoon with no line! We found a
few empty chairs, dumped our stuff off, and loaded up with
sunscreen. We took off for the lazy river to get an overview of
the park. I’m glad we came here today for a change of pace and
relaxation. The lazy river was the perfect temperature. We got off
at shark reef and got our vests and goggles. I bought a couple
underwater cameras just for this place! I’ve never snorkeled in
the ocean, but I love doing it here. Mel didn’t really like it.
She said she thought a shark was following her around! We were
close to the wave pool so we went there next. We went out to about
the four foot mark and when the second wave hit I almost drowned.
I had my sunglasses on and they went flying off and my scrunchie
flew out of my hair. I reached out with both hands to grab them
and forgot to keep swimming. Thankfully the lifeguard didn’t
need to jump in. Mel and I went closer to shore and Joe and Justin
went way out for the big waves. Mel and I got out and went to take
a picture of the guys, but they had disappeared (and we took
pictures of guys we thought were them.) We finally met up and
headed for the bar for some refreshment. We wanted to get to MGM
early enough to do everything there, so we headed back to Coronado
for a quick change and then back on the bus. |

| When we got
back to our room we found our first towel animal. Of course I had
to take a picture. It was an elephant (shh, don't tell but I even
brought him home with me!) |

| MGM |
| We
got to MGM and headed straight for Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
They weren’t doing fast pass, so we asked about the line. They
said they would be opening up the line in about a half hour. Just
enough time to do the Drew Carey show. I’d never seen this
before and it wasn’t that great. After the show, Joe went to
make dinner reservations at the Sci-FI and walk around and Justin,
Mel, and I went to Millionaire. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes
for the doors to open, but it was cool in the waiting area and
they gave test questions on television monitors. The inside set
was really great too. I was never a big fan of the show, but Mel
and Justin loved it. I was shocked when they said we could win a
cruise!!! I wasn’t very good at the questions, so I just decided
to hit the buttons as fast as possible in any order. That
technique didn’t get me far. Justin did get his number in the
top ten once. Mel and I got our faces up on the big audience
screen. That was pretty cool! After the show we met Joe at the
sci-fi. We were seated immediately. I had hoped we would make it
in time for the lunch menu, but we were too late. I asked our
waitress if we could just order some burgers and she said no
problem! I love the theme at this restaurant. It is in my top 5
list at Disney. Our waitress here was fantastic. She was the first
person to really make it a magical trip for us. Mel spent some
time filling out a comment card since she was so nice. After we
gave her the card she ran and got free Frisbees for us all. I love
Disney! After dinner we did Muppets and then Indiana Jones. They
are both great shows. It was really hot out so we grabbed some
water and headed over to the Tower of Terror. The line was about
10 minutes long. It was a different drop sequence then the day
before and we got a car with the loose seatbelts again, but we
survived. Next we went on the Rock-n-Roller Coaster. This time
there was no line!! |

 |
| Mel
and Justin wanted to go to back Pleasure Island and Disney Quest,
but Joe and I just wanted to relax, so we decided to split up. Joe
and I stopped in a couple of shops and ordered some mouse ears for
our nephews, then went back to Coronado and swam in the quiet pool
for a while.
Joe went to pick us up a snack at the hotel shop and when
he returned he surprised me with a My Pal Mickey!!!!! YEAH!! I
loved him and Mickey!! Now we would have to go to the Magic
Kingdom tomorrow to test him out.
