| The
Kitchen |
| We got up early this
morning so we could have breakfast together before I had to leave
for my conference. We went downstairs to the Kitchen and were
seated immediately. Our waitress took our drink order and
explained the buffet. I had an omelet and Joe had a little of
everything. I thought it was pretty good for a buffet and the
service was excellent. I headed out to the "compact" car
and off to my conference. I thought I would try I-4 today to see
if I could get there faster, but I went in the wrong direction and
had to turn around. In the end it took the same amount of time. It
was pouring rain when I got out of the conference, so I took
I-Drive back to the hotel. I changed and grabbed a hat and headed
to meet Joe at Universal Studios. |

Joe was waiting as
planned at the Terminator ride and he filled me in on his day. He
had taken nearly 100 pictures and needed me to change the camera
card. I scanned through the pictures and he had taken 20 of just
the stars on the sidewalk! He really enjoyed the Blues Brothers
show and went on Jaws and a few of the other rides again. He was
dry and had weathered the storm in Finnegan's. T2 was pretty cool.
Again, not what I expected, and I really liked the live action in
conjunction with the 3-D.

We made our way
around the park stopping to ride ET, Back to the Future and Men In
Black (I had the highest score!) We caught the Horror Make Up Show
and Shrek 4-D. I had hoped to see the Animal Planet show, but we
didn't have enough time. We could always come back tomorrow if we
were bored at IOA, yeah right! We walked back to the hotel to get
ready for dinner at Mama Della's and a night at Pat O'Briens!

We didn't know how
far away was from the Hard Rock, but we figured it must be walking
distance so we followed the signs. In about ten minutes we were
there. This place was just beautiful. Mama Della's was easy to
find and we could hear music playing inside. We were seated at a
nice romantic table for two. Out waiter came over right away and
helped us select a bottle of wine and appetizer. Everything about
this restaurant was incredible. We even had dessert!

We were stuffed from
dinner, so we took the boat over to City Walk. Tonight was 2 for
Tuesday at Pat O'Briens and I was looking forward to some
hurricanes and the piano bar. We had peeked in a few nights before
and the place was pretty dead, but tonight there was a great
crowd. We got some Mardi Gras beads and our drinks. There were
four guys on rotation at the piano tonight and they were all
really good. The drink special ended at ten, but we order a few
more rounds so we could keep the souvenir glasses. I had to get up
early the next day, so we left (a little) before closing. We
walked home and I drank some water to try and avoid a hangover! |
